You apply a user segment to an article in your knowledge to set the view permissions for that article.

You can create an article list to view all articles with a specific view permission or if you have custom user segments, you can view a list of all articles where the user segment is applied directly from the user segment.

Viewing a list of articles with a specific view permission

You can create an article list to view all articles with a specific view permission based on a user segment.

To create an article list of all articles with a specific view permission

  1. In Knowledge admin, click Manage articles () in the sidebar.

    Your All articles list opens by default.

  2. Click Filters, then select View permission.

  3. Select a specific view permission from the list.

    A list of articles with that view permission appears

  4. If you would like to save your list, click Save search as list.

Viewing a user segment and where it is applied

You can view a list of all articles where a user segment is applied directly from the user segment.

To view a specific user segment and see a list of all articles where it is applied
  1. In Knowledge admin, click User permissions () in the sidebar.
  2. Click any user segment to open it.

    Alternatively, you can click the options menu at the end of the user segment, then select Edit. You cannot edit the built-in user segments.

  3. In the user segment, click View articles that are only visible to this segment.

    A list of articles where the user segment is applied appears.
