When a new article is published within a section, article notification emails are sent to users who are following that section. For public articles, the full content of the article is embedded in the body of the email. Article images are also embedded in the body of the email, but are limited to the first five images in the article.
For restricted articles that can only be viewed in the help center by users with permission, the email contains a notification and link to view the new article within the section. Recipients can click the email link to log in, and if they have permission to do so, view the new article in the help center.
You can configure Guide to allow restricted content to appear in the body of notification emails sent to section followers who have permission to view the article in the help center.
To allow restricted content in email notifications
- In Guide, click the Settings () icon in the sidebar.
- Under Security, select Allow email notifications for restricted articles.
- Click Update.
