Zendesk is discontinuing support for URL targets and branded targets in favor of webhooks.
What is changing?
With the exception of email targets, on the removal date, all targets will stop working. You won't be able to use existing targets or create new ones. Instead, webhooks will be available to to perform the functions you might have used these targets for previously.
The following targets are included:
- Basecamp
- Campfire
- Clickatell
- Get Satisfaction
- Pivotal Tracker
- Twilio
- X Corp (formerly Twitter)
- URL
- Yammer
Additionally, the Target failures page in Admin Center will be removed on the removal date.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
Webhooks provide superior capabilities to targets, eliminate the disruptive deactivation behavior of targets, and provide event-driven actions and triggers. You can use webhooks to perform the same functionality as these targets in a more efficient and effective way.
What do I need to do?
If you're currently using any of the affected target types, convert them to webhooks prior to the removal date. Doing so will prevent interruptions to your workflows that rely on these targets. Converting each target to a webhook may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, so we recommend you start this process as soon as possible.
