We want to notify our customers about an important change impacting the Zendesk Shopify integration. Due to Shopify’s upcoming deprecation of ScriptTag support on the Thank You and Order Status pages, our messaging Web Widget will no longer function on these pages for customers.

What does this mean?
The Zendesk Shopify integration currently uses ScriptTags set to “all” to show the messaging Web Widget on the Thank You and Order Status pages. Starting August 28, 2025, Shopify will only allow ScriptTags set to “online_store,” which stops scripts from running on these checkout pages. As a result, the messaging Web Widget will no longer function on the Thank You and Order Status pages. All other features will continue to work as usual.
Why is Zendesk removing the messaging Web Widget from these Shopify pages?
This change is driven by Shopify’s platform updates, which focus on improving security and performance by restricting ScriptTags on sensitive checkout-related pages. Zendesk is not removing the functionality by choice, but we must comply with Shopify’s new platform limitations.

Am I affected?
If you use Zendesk’s Shopify integration and the Zendesk messaging Web Widget shows on your Shopify Thank You or Order Status pages, you will be affected. The widget will stop working on these pages after the deprecation date.
What do I need to do?
No action is required. If you have installations using the legacy integration, the Web Widget will no longer function on the Thank You and Order Status pages after the deprecation date.
