Connecting external data sources to Explore

Hi Explore team,

When Explore was first announced in 2017 there were talks about functionality that would allow to plug in external data sources into Explore. We work with other data sources that we very often combine with Explore's data in Excel. But would be great to be able to connect them directly into Explore.

We are very interested in this functionality and wondered if there any plans to bring it live in near future.
