Request: Ability to exclude content from search
Posted Jul 22, 2022
In your end user search article you talk what and how the article content affects search.
I'd like to be able to exclude entire HTML tags from the search. Preferably by adding an attribute to a tag like
search="exclude"
Why: We include generic information at the beginning of each article that tells people whether the feature is available on their plan or for their account type. We don't want that to be included in the search results. The same goes for notes and tips.
You folks at Zendesk seem to be doing a workaround by including images at the beginning of your own articles for that exact reason. That is not a solution we'd like to be using as it looks incoherent and out of place.

Hey Jakub Mastalerz, thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We apologize for the delay on our end in providing you with a response to your feature request.
This is a great feature request and I have added it to the backlog for future consideration. This means that we will think about adding it as a priority later in our planning cycle. We are going to leave this post open for comment to allow others to provide their feedback and use cases, however please note as is stated in our Community Guidelines that we can not commit to prioritizing any one piece of feedback we receive in the community

Yes, we have a similar need where we don't want certain sections of text to show up in the search results.
That tag sounds good, but failing that, at least a separate field that we could put stuff in, and it not being indexed.

I am trying to run a search of agents that are within a group but the checkbox “Agent_OOO” is unchecked. I cannot seem to run this search. Excluding this result would be great.
