Zendesk is transitioning support for Jira Server to maintenance mode.

This update ensures clarity around long-term support expectations while maintaining availability for customers currently using Jira Server. Our active development and platform investments continue to focus on Atlassian-supported deployment models, including Jira Cloud and our Jira v2 integration.

What's changing?

The Zendesk Jira Server support will move into maintenance mode.

In maintenance mode:

  • The integration will remain available for customers.
  • No new features or enhancements will be added.
  • Support will be limited to configuration guidance.
  • Deep platform-level troubleshooting will not be available.
  • Issues that require vendor escalation cannot be escalated to Atlassian.

There is no immediate disruption to service as part of this change.

Why is Zendesk making this change?

As described in this article, Atlassian ended official support for Jira Server on February 15, 2024.

Since that date, Atlassian no longer provides security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for Jira Server. As a result:

  • Vendor escalation paths are no longer available.
  • Platform-level defects cannot be resolved upstream.
  • Continued feature investment would be misaligned with Atlassian’s supported deployment models.

Zendesk has continued supporting the Jira Server integration for two years following Atlassian’s end-of-support to provide stability for customers. Moving to maintenance mode ensures responsible platform alignment while maintaining access for customers who continue to use Jira Server.

What do I need to do?

No immediate action is required.

If you are currently using Jira Server, you may continue using the integration as-is. However, for long-term platform stability, security alignment, and access to ongoing feature enhancements, we recommend evaluating migration to Jira Cloud and the Zendesk Jira v2 integration.
