Flagging a translated article as out of date

You can flag an article translation as outdated, meaning it needs to be updated.

You must be a Guide admin or an agent with publishing permissions to flag a translated article as out of date.

To flag a translated article as out of date
  1. Navigate to the translated article you want to set, then click Edit article in the top menu bar.
  2. Click the globe icon () on the collapsible panel, then select the language of the translation you want to flag.
  3. Click the Options button () on the translation, then select Flag. You cannot set the default language as flagged.

The translation is marked as Flagged so that you know it needs to be updated.

  4. To unflag the translation, click the Options button () on the translation, then select Unflag translation.

The Flagged tag is removed from the translation, and the translation is no longer flagged.

Setting an article translation as the default language

When you have article translations, you need to set one article as the default language. The article you set as the default cannot be removed.

To set a translated article as the default language
  1. Navigate to the translated article you want to set, then click Edit article in the top menu bar.
  2. Click the globe icon () on the collapsible panel, then select the language of the translation you want to set as default.
  3. Click the Options button () on the translation, then select Set as default.

The translation now appears under the Default language section of the Translation panel, and all other article translations are listed under the Additional languages section.

Deleting a translated article

You can delete a translated version of an article if necessary. You cannot recover a deleted translation.

To delete a translated article
  1. Navigate to the translated article you want to delete, then click Edit article in the top menu bar.
  2. Click the globe icon () on the collapsible panel, then select the language of the translation you want to delete.
  3. Click the Options button () on the translation, then select Delete.
Note: If you are trying to delete an article that is currently the default language for the item, you must first set another article as the default language.

  4. Click OK, to verify you want to delete the translation.

The translation is permanently removed from the article.
