Only Guide admins can enable or disable @mentions in Gather.
When you enable @mentions in Gather, users commenting on a post can mention any user who has a help center account and has posted or commented in the help center in the past. The user mentioned is automatically emailed, and now follows the post.
To mention another user, users can type "@" followed by a minimum of the first three characters of their alias, or user name if the user does not have an alias. Users can then select the user they want to add from the autocomplete menu.
Note: If public user profiles (Guide Professional and Enterprise) are not enabled, or if a user has not yet submitted a post or comment in the community, users can't be mentioned.
To enable @mentions
- In Guide admin, click the Settings () icon in the sidebar, then click Gather Settings.
- Select Enable @mentions.
- Click Save.
Users commenting on a post or article can now use up to 15 @mentions per comment.
You can disable @mentions by deselecting the Enable @mentions check box.
