We are pleased to announce the introduction of additional attributes for dashboard restrictions.
This announcement answers the following questions:
What’s changing and why?
Dashboard restrictions now support all default and custom historical attributes. These additional attributes will be static, meaning they don’t dynamically change a dashboard’s data based on the viewer.
For example, with this change you could now create a dashboard restriction that filters data by Assignee name and Ticket channel. Assignee name is a dynamic attribute, meaning it filters the dashboard’s data by the logged-in user. Ticket channel is a static attribute, meaning it filters the dashboard’s data by whatever values you selected when you created the dashboard restriction.
This change gives you greater flexibility in creating dashboards that are tailored for your teams and require less administrative overhead.
Additionally, in the future we will be investigating the possibility of supporting live data in dashboard restrictions. This potential change would allow you to combine multiple dashboards relying on custom and live attributes, further streamlining your dashboard maintenance.
What do I need to do?
There's no action required of you. This update is automatically rolling out to all accounts. For more information about dashboard restrictions, see Dynamically adapting dashboard data based on viewer.
