Zendesk is excited to announce an improved and simplified experience when configuring end user and team member authentication settings in Admin Center.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing?
We’ve made it easier for Zendesk admins to configure which sign-in methods end users and team members can use. The authentication pages for team members and end users now look and behave the same.
For end users, you are no longer required to turn on Zendesk authentication (email and password) to enable social sign-ins (X, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook). All SSO options can be turned on independently. In addition, you can require end users to use a social sign-in when you choose Redirect to SSO.
For team members, business sign-ins (Google and Microsoft) are no longer mutually exclusive options tied to external authentication. You can now offer business sign-ins and custom SSO methods together and all SSO options can be turned on independently. If you select Redirect to SSO, then all business sign-ins and custom SSO methods appear for you to choose from.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
This update simplifies and aligns the two authentication pages, making it easier for Zendesk admins to configure the right sign-in methods for users without any unnecessary restrictions for what options are available.
What do I need to do?
There’s no action required from you. This update is automatically rolled out and available to all accounts.
