We're excited to introduce the ability for content writers to share media files with one another via a new Shared with all tab in the Guide media library. This enhancement facilitates a more collaborative and efficient content creation workflow within your help center.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What’s changing, and why?
Previously, only Guide admins had the ability to share media files with all content writers. With this release, content writers (agents) can now share their own media files, making them available to other content writers in their account. When an agent shares a media file that they’ve uploaded, it’s tagged as "Shared" and becomes accessible to all other agents who have access to the media library. The media file can then be used in articles created by the agents. Shared media files can only be unshared or deleted by the content writer who originally shared them.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
This change gives help center content authors more autonomy and fosters a collaborative environment. By allowing agents to share media files among themselves, we are simplifying the content creation process and reducing dependencies on Guide admins. This ultimately results in a more agile and efficient workflow
What do I need to do?
No immediate action is required on your part. Your team can begin using this new functionality right away. To learn more, see Working with images in the media library.
