Zendesk is excited to announce an early access program (EAP) for custom objects in Guide and Explore.

What is changing?
Since the initial release of the new custom object experience last year, Zendesk has been working diligently to add and expand what you can accomplish with your custom data in Zendesk. This EAP introduces three new features:

Support for lookup relationship fields in help center request forms. The inclusion of lookup relationship fields associated with custom objects in help center request forms makes it possible to expose custom object record data in those forms.

Ability to configure end user permissions for custom object records. Just as permissions are defined by role for team members, you can now configure end user permissions as well. When you allow end users to view or otherwise modify custom object records, they can select related records in lookup relationship fields included in the request form.
Configuring end user permissions for custom object records also makes it possible for developers to build custom experiences with the Custom Object Records API.

Expanded reporting on lookup relationship fields in Explore. Enhanced reporting for custom objects and lookup relationship fields means you can have a better understanding of your custom data and relationships.
