Zendesk is excited to announce support for custom objects in Zendesk Marketplace apps.

What is changing?

Developers now have the ability to include use and create custom objects and object triggers through Marketplace apps. This powerful new capability enables you to acquire additional custom data seamlessly that is integrated seamlessly into your agent workflows.

Until now, only legacy custom objects were supported in marketplace apps.

Why is Zendesk making this change?

Zendesk understands that supporting custom objects in marketplace apps empowers our partners and customers to build apps that leverage the latest custom objects and object triggers features. This opens the opportunity for innovative solutions that directly address customer needs.

Additionally, this makes it possible for partners and customers currently using legacy custom objects in their apps to transition smoothly before legacy custom objects are removed.

What do I need to do?

To incorporate custom objects into your apps, see Specifying app requirements in the Zendesk's App developer's guide.

If you have an app that uses legacy custom objects, make a plan to update the app to use the new custom object experience prior to to their removal.
