Issues with same contact , with more than one deal

We are having an issue. Example a new lead comes in as John Doe. We convert him to the deals pipeline. We close on the deal. The next day he puts in another lead. When we email him, the communication still shows in the old deal thread. We want it to show separately, because everything is jumbled all together .

Hi there!
Each time you convert a lead, whether or not you associate a deal right at the time of conversion, you are turning that lead into a contact. This contact may then be associated with one or more deals. In the case you have described, you are converting the lead to a contact, and associating a deal to the contact at the time of conversion. When you close that deal, the contact remains. You should not re-add the person as a lead at this point, as you can associate a new deal with this contact. Rather than adding a duplicate lead, you should create a new deal to represent the revenue opportunity, and associate it with the existing contact.
