Advanced TinyMCE Editor
Planned
Posted Jan 22, 2020
It would be super helpful if Zendesk would implement a more full-featured TinyMCE editor like the one found here. And if it could be configurable by admins and developers, that would be even better. Configuration options should include:
- Items should be able to be added or removed from dropdown menus or menu bars
- Items in the Insert dropdown menu should be editable to include classes and custom code
- Ability to add custom components and code snippets
- The display area should able to apply CSS styling for a true WYSIWYG experience

This would be super helpful, as we have a theme that relies on an extensive set of tag classes that look great, but require a lot of manual source code editing. It's also not intuitive for those new to Guide who have to learn these code sets.

I agree that this would be extremely helpful. Primarily the ability to have as much design flexibility with tables, images, etc. as what is available on articles would make Gather way more impactful. We often have to use articles for things that we want to put in Gather because of the limitations of designing.

Has anyone successfully implemented the advanced editor themselves? I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this.

I really appreciate your reminder! The EAP for the new editor was announced back in August. This is the foundational experience that we’ll be enhancing with even more exciting features. I’d love for you to give it a try!

hi. Katarzyna
The EAP for the new editor you mentioned seems to be something that agents use when writing articles. But the editor I want is the one that end users use when writing ticket comments or when writing requests in the description field when submitting a ticket. Of course, we are using WYSIWYG in our help center theme.
Is there any news about the help center theme editor?
