Disable 3rd party cookie requirement globally: status update?

Answered

Posted Feb 17, 2022

What is the status of the topic David Gordon's April 21, 2017, post, "Disable 3rd party cookie requirement globally"?  That post still existed in 2021, at https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115006147787-Disable-3rd-party-cookie-requirement-globally.  It has apparently been deleted, though a snapshot is available via Internet Archive.  There, David wrote:

We have had several end users complain that they need to allow 3rd party cookies to login to our support portal. They mostly use Chrome and wish to not use a separate browser (such as Safari) just to access our portal. Has there been similar requests to allow this as an option?

My understanding as of mid-2021 was that Zendesk users were still required to configure their browsers to allow 3rd-party cookies--in violation of best practices established decades ago.

This is a continuing pain point for our more security conscious customers. Is there any continued discussion working to, as the original post notes, Disable the 3rd party cookie requirement globally?

We've just begun roll out of a change to our login experience for cookie restricted browsers. We'd love to get you feedback on whether or not it resolves the issue for you. We've had to balance a number of factors to come to this release. This enhancement is meant to improve the login experience for browsers which disable or restrict 3rd party cookies, and not to require users to manually allow them. All accounts should have this feature in place by the 15th of November.
