Welcome to the Enhanced API Dashboard EAP!

Welcome!  Zendesk is always working to improve ease of use and provide additional product capabilities that will improve the admin experience. One challenge for customers has been visibility into their API traffic and usage profile.  Zendesk has API rate limits by plan, and when that rate limit is exceeded, the result is the API call returning with a 429 (Error Code for Too Many Requests ).

The Enhanced API Dashboard in the Admin Center is a significant upgrade to the existing API Dashboard.  

It provides:

  • Clearly displays aggregate API traffic volume against account limits
  • Up to 90 days historical view into API Traffic Volume
  • Ability to see hourly, daily, weekly granularity depending on the window
  • Lists the top 5 callers of API endpoints
  • Lists the top 5 called API endpoints by volume
  • Lists the top 5 API endpoints returning 429 error codes

 

How do I sign up for the Enhanced API Dashboard EAP?

If you’re interested in participating in this EAP, there are only a couple of things that we ask:

  • You are on a Growth Plan or higher
  • You’re willing to share feedback on your experience with the Enhanced API Dashboard, the information presented, and interactivity with the visualization

After you sign up and we confirm your eligibility for the EAP, Zendesk will notify you when the functionality has been enabled on the instance(s) you’ve requested in the form.  Thank you for your interest!

 

How do I give feedback?

This community forum is one of the best ways to share your thoughts and areas for improvement.  The user community enables collaboration where everyone can benefit and contribute.

Here are a couple of pointers that will really help us understand your feedback:

  • When you see something you dislike or see something you'd like improved, write it down and think about it for a little while
  • Try to be as clear as possible in your feedback; explain why you like/dislike something and how it could be improved. If you can do screenshots easily, we'd love to see them
  • Be patient when waiting for responses from Zendesk
