With Sell Voice, you can set up a voicemail greeting to play when you can't take a call from a customer. Use the unique phone number assigned to you, as you cannot share the same number with another agent.
You need to enable Sell Voice before you set up your voicemail.

To use voicemail in Sell, you need to specify what Sell should do when you are not available, and also the voicemail greeting that will play.
To set up voicemail
- On the Sell sidebar, click the Settings (
) icon, then select Communication Channels > Voice and Text.
- On the General tab, scroll down to the Inbound calls section.
- For the When you're not available setting, click Forward to voicemail.
- For the Greeting setting, click Default greeting.
You can listen to the greeting by clicking the play button below the greeting.
- If you want to upload your own custom greeting, click the Need your own message? link. You are redirected to a website to upload an MP3 file of your greeting. The Zendesk support team then processes and uploads your audio file.
Receiving voicemail alerts
If you have a voicemail from a customer, you'll receive an alert in your notification center ().

The voicemail functionality is currently in beta. I encourage you to join the EAP and provide feedback there so that the product manager can understand your needs.

I really need this feature. I cannot purchase Zendesk without a voicemail. I signed up but it shows that it might take time until I hear from anyone.

After getting setup, we found that Voicemail is readily available through the Web browser on a desktop. However Voicemails do not function or playback on the Mobile app and just results in an error.

I've requested support on this 3 separte times using the "Need your own message"?" link in the Greeting settings menu. I received the following response from Zendesk Support:
"I appreciate your feedback and I'm really sorry for the inconvenience you are having this.
As this is related to the EAP/Beta feature which is not yet generally available, it is outside the scope of our support. For any issues or feedback related to this feature, we ask users post their comments/use case in the mentioned article where the product team will monitor activity and follow up."
Your article here says that the custom greeting support is available via your support team. What's the deal here? It shouldn't be hard to set this up, and it's essential that a salesperson has a voicemail greeting that works. Please fix this.
