Zendesk is excited to announce an object triggers early access program for custom objects.
What is changing?
Historically, triggers in Zendesk Support have been limited to ticket events and data contained or associated with tickets. This EAP enables accounts with custom objects to expand trigger functionality beyond the standard ticket object. You can now use triggers to update your custom object records, even if they don't have a defined relationship to tickets.
Triggers on custom objects enable you to create and run triggers based on events with your custom object records. You can build condition statements based on custom field values and define actions that update field values on the same object.

Why is Zendesk making this change?
We know customers have workflows that don't involve tickets. We want to help you be more efficient and optimize your ability to leverage your custom data. Object triggers for custom objects can enhance your processes, regardless of the type of data involved.
What do I need to do?
If you'd like to participate, sign up for the EAP. We'll review your request and notify you when you've been added to the EAP. We invite everyone to join the conversation and provide feedback in the EAP community.
