On November 18, 2024, we’re removing X (formerly Twitter) as a sign-in option for end users.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing?
We’re removing X (formerly Twitter) as a sign-in option in Admin Center under Account > Security > End user authentication. You can continue to allow end users to sign in to their social accounts with Microsoft, Google, and Facebook, along with any other custom single sign-on configuration you have set up.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
The integration with X (formerly Twitter) has been experiencing significant issues for some time, leading to an unreliable and often broken user experience. Unfortunately, these issues are beyond our control. Despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to find a viable solution that restores the ability for end users to sign in with X.
What do I need to do?
No action is required. If you currently offer X (formerly Twitter) as a sign-in option for end users, you can turn it off before it is deprecated on November 18th. To do this, in Admin Center, under Account > Security > End user authentication, uncheck the box for Twitter in the External authentication section and save the page.
You may wish to enable additional social sign-in options for end users.
