Beginning April 30, Zendesk will no longer support new integrations for Chat Conversation APIs and WebSDK, restricting third- party bot integration with Zendesk Chat.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What does this mean?
As a result of this change:
- Customers will no longer be able to use Chat WebSDK and Chat Conversation APIs (CCAPIs) for new integrations.
- Existing integrations on both Chat Web SDK and Chat Conversation APIs will be unaffected, and continue to function as expected.
Am I affected?
New integrations for Zendesk Chat using WebSDK and CCAPIs will be affected by the changes, but existing integrations will remain unaffected.
What do I need to do?
We encourage Zendesk Chat customers to migrate to messaging to get the best that Zendesk has to offer. For CCAPIs and WebSDK features customers should use our messaging product rather than Zendesk Chat.
- If you already have a third-party bot using the Chat WebSDK or Chat Conversation API, no action is required; your current integrations will remain functional.
- If you're using Zendesk Chat and want to integrate a bot, use an AI agents. If you need a third-party bot, switch to Zendesk messaging and use Sunshine Conversation APIs.
