If you use Zendesk analytics, you’ll be familiar with the multitude of reports you can generate from your metrics, attributes, and formulas. You also know that it can be time-consuming to figure out how to create the reports you want.

To help you go from your data to decisions more quickly, we’re excited to introduce quick reports, which harness the power of AI to empower you to write simple prompts to generate the reports you need in seconds.

For example, if you want to know which of your agents created the most tickets last week, ask the question, “In the past week, which group solved the most tickets?” Quick reports immediately generates the report for you:

You can then supply follow-up prompts to refine the report. For example, “Make that a pie chart” gives you:

When you’ve generated a report, you can edit it in report builder to fine-tune it to look exactly how you want.

What is changing?

 If your Zendesk role allows you to create custom reports, you’ll find two ways to access quick reports:

  • In the reports library, you'll see a new Quick report button at the top-right of the page. 

  • While editing a dashboard, quick reports appears as an option in the right-hand toolbar.

 

All existing report builder functionality remains unchanged. You can still create reports as you did before if you prefer. You can create quick reports that use the Support: Tickets dataset. To learn more, see Creating AI-powered quick reports.

Why is Zendesk making this change?

Service teams need an easy way to transform complex data into clear insights, which is why Zendesk is enhancing its reporting experience with AI-powered quick reports. 

Quick reports empower teams to ask questions in their own words to create reports in seconds, simplifying data analysis and driving faster decision-making. 

By using simple prompts, service leaders can instantly receive actionable insights, identify trends, and democratize data across their organization. Quick reports provide a preview of Zendesk's future vision for AI-driven analytics.

Who can access quick reports?

Quick reports are available for all customers with a Professional or higher plan and are included in your subscription. If your Zendesk role allows you to create custom reports, then you can use quick reports to speed up the report creation process. For more information, see Giving users access to Explore.
