User segment based on department

Hi

On our end users profiles we have a field called department which we have populated with staff or student depending on their role within out establishments.

Does anyone know of a way we can query this to make user segmentation so that students don’t seem guides that are for staff eyes only?

Or have a better way to achieve this? All end users are provisioned from Azure Active Directory

Hey Luke,

You should be able to create a user segment in guide based on a tag on the user profile. When you set a drop-down field on the end-user's profile or organization inside Zendesk, the tag which is linked to the value selected is added to the profile. You could then use this tag to build a students segment versus a staff segment in Guide. 

From there, when you're building the articles or sections, simply select which segment the article will be visible too. You can check out this guide here on Creating user segments.
