User creation date in Explore

Posted Nov 24, 2020

Hi Team,

Looks like there is no data available on the creation date of a user in Explore. Insights had this for reporting purpose. Request you to enable this metric in Explore

Thanks

Hi @...

Thank you for raising this question. The user creation date is available in the Support: Tickets dataset. This dataset focuses mostly on the ticket data but it also has all User and Org attributes you used to have in Insights.

The attribute you need is called Requester created - Date

Thanks for this @.... I was able to create this query. To make it look similar to Insights report, can I sort by Requester created - Date by Ascending or Descending ?

Thanks

Hey Eugene,

A follow-up question: will the Explore report you highlighted provide a list of all users, or only those with recent tickets?

We aren't currently using Support, though we have it and may use it in the future, but we're getting ready to launch our Help Center. We're currently trying to decide whether to enable end users to create their own accounts, and one question that is come up is whether we'll be able to periodically review new user accounts to get a sense of who is accessing our Help Center (which is intended specifically for current users of our software). Would it be able to help with this?

Note: SSO is on the table for later, but right now I need a solution we can use in the meantime.

Thanks,

Liz

@...

You will be able to report on the end-users created, just follow the example above. Although the dataset name is Support: Tickets you can look at any users present in your Support account. So, it doesn't matter if those users have tickets or not.

Hopefully, you'll find this useful.

Hi Eugene,

Yes, that's helpful. I got Explore activated and started taking a look, and I do think this is the best way I've found of meeting the need I described. Thank you for clarifying this for me.

Hi Eugene Orman one question,

What does the column "Users" measure? I have recreated this report, and some of the users have up to 10 over this column.

Hi Sara,

This would pertain to the count of active user profiles. You can verify this by conducting a search using the requester's name and observing how many users share the same name. 🙂 I hope this clarifies things!

Thanks for your reply, Elaine.

I've conducted a search using one of the requester's names, and I can only find 2 entries even though "Users" displays 11 🙁
