Old Coil version built in - messaging Android SDK
Hi,
I'm using this sdk, version 2.2.0.
implementation "zendesk.messaging:messaging-android:$zendeskMessagingVersion"
Based on the gradle dependencies analysis it looks like it's using Coil 1.3.0. We're using Coil 2.0.0-rc2 and it seems that those versions are not compatible too much and we actually can't reduce it because we need compose support.
Do you have any plans for upgrading this dependency? And if not do you maybe have some experience with resolving such dependency issues using gradle? Preserve Coil 1.3.0 just for this one library?
Thanks!

Hey Filip,
Just had a conversation with the dev team. They're adding a card to their backlog to upgrade this. Once I have more details surrounding the release of this upgrade - I'll let you know!

Hey folks,
The fix for this is being targeted for the October release. I'll update this thread once the release has went live.
Thanks! -
Also we have a problem with Moshi
The library overrides retrofit converters
Kindly fix dependencies issues we can't use the library with such problems -
Hey Abdelrahman,
Can you provide more information? Are you running into this issue on multiple versions of the SDK? What are you seeing exactly with the library overriding the converters? Do you have any errors or logs that we can take a look at?
Thanks

October is running out and we are looking forward to the update. Lot's of things are on-hold internally regarding images for us. We would really like to have clarity on when this October update will happen for Coil Image Library in Zendesk.
