JIRA Integration - Functionality Issue
Posted Jul 25, 2023
We have received feedback from users that when creating a new JIRA from within a Zendesk ticket, if they accidently click out of the 'create issue' box it completely closes the box and they lose everything they have entered.
This is frustrating for the user as it means they have to start from scratch which can take up a lot of time.
Thank you,

Hi Lisa Springall & Ashley Caputo,
Thanks for flagging this and fully appreciate that this is a frustrating experience to lose all your work!
Due to the way the app framework functions, we aren't able to stop the modal from disappearing when you click outside the modal, and we would require a bigger overhaul of the app to store the state of the modal when it was closed.
I've captured your feedback for our team when we next pickup work for the Jira integration and will do some investigation to see what is possible within the app.
Thank you,
David

Hi Lisa
This is probably a presentation bug.
You can always have a look at Exalate, a decentralized integration solution that will give you full control over what gets sent.
The nice things is that the node that sits on top of your instance is accessable outside of the ticket, this way this presentation bug is taken away.
Thanks

My team has brought up the same issue with the Jira integration. I see that it happens with any of the Apps that use a popup, even Zendesk's Knowledge capture app when displaying the full article. With the Jira integration, accidentally clicking outside the box loses all of your work and is a big functionality issue. I'd love to see Zendesk fix this display issue.
