I have logged out and logged in. Tried numerous times over the last two days - always the same error message.

This error message also appear when the new account's email address is already being used as a support address in Admin > Channels > Email.
For some reason, the indication that the email address is already used as a support address appears only when trying to create a staff member from Agent interface, not from the Admin one.

Support found a solution today to set my local to English US instead of English World. This also worked.

I ran into this error message today. I worked around the issue by adding the user as a customer, and then elevating them to a team member.
