We are excited to announce the public launch of our Product Accessibility Team at Zendesk. While this team has been working behind the scenes for several years, we believe it’s important to share the work we’ve been doing to enhance accessibility for all our users. Our commitment to inclusivity is at the core of our values, and this team plays a crucial role in ensuring that our products and services are accessible to everyone.

Why Zendesk Established a Dedicated Accessibility Team

The Product Accessibility Team at Zendesk was officially formed in 2021. This initiative reflects our recognition of the importance of accessibility and our dedication to creating an inclusive environment for all users.

Our Product Accessibility Team is comprised of talented professionals who are passionate about enabling our customers to serve everyone and hire anyone. 

Since its inception, the Product Accessibility Team has been actively involved in defining and implementing processes to improve accessibility across Zendesk. We collaborate with various departments to integrate accessibility into every stage of product development. Our efforts include facilitating third party accessibility audits, providing training to staff, and establishing best practice guidelines to help ensure that all of our products meet applicable accessibility standards.

 

Making Customer-Facing Products and Features Accessible

We are pleased to share that Zendesk has made significant strides toward achieving WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. To learn more about our compliance with accessibility standards, we encourage you to review our Accessibility Conformance Reports, which detail our adherence to recognized guidelines and our ongoing efforts to improve accessibility.

  • Assistive Technology Compatibility: Our products are designed with WCAG 2.1 AA in mind, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of assistive technologies, such as screen readers!
  • Keyboard Navigation Support: Users can navigate using keyboard shortcuts and access support suite.
  • Colour Contrast: This helps users with visual impairments by providing a contrast color scheme that is compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA contrast standards.
