The global search feature in Sell allows you to easily search the data that you’ve added to your account. When you click in the global search field, you’ll first see a list of the items you have most recently visited. This gives you quick access to what you’ve been most recently working on.
You can search any keyword (for example, the name of one your deals or contacts) and further refine and filter your search results if there are too many returns. To find relevant content, Sell global search uses tokens generated by splitting a search query into smaller chunks to attempt an exact match.
Sell global search lists all the search results for the keyword you entered. You can also refine your search by viewing the search results in a specific category. The categories include:
- All
- Deals
- Contacts
- Leads
- Notes
- Tasks
- Documents
- Appointments
To search the data in your account
- In the upper right corner of Sell, click the global search field.
- Enter the keyword(s) that you want to search for.
All of the Sell data that contains the keywords is displayed (this includes any custom fields you’ve added to your Sell account).
- (Optional) Select the Only show results owned by me check box, to see only
the search results that are relevant to you (for example, deals that you are the
owner of).

Is there a way to search through email messages exchanged with the Contacts? I can search Notes, etc, but not email messages.

Using the Communication Center, you can search for email messages and refine your list of messages by, for example, choosing to only view your leads in the Inbox.
There is some additional information on that below:

Thanks!
