Reusing images in multiple Articles
Completed
Posted Jan 05, 2021
Has any more thought been given to establishing a sort of image library for use in articles?
Many of my articles will use the same images, same size. An example of this would be when we issue an Alert or a Bulletin. Depending on the issue we may use the ISO Danger, Warning or Notice image at the top of the article.
Using Copy / Paste has its issues when we archive the Alert because its no longer relevant so our solution is to have an image library (with all images sized appropriately) in our Cloud where all Agents and technical writers can access.
If this library function were available in Guide, it would save a lot to time re-uploading the image each time you create a new Article.

Hey everyone,
I'm happy to share that we have now released account level image gallery! Check out the following announcement for more information: Announcing search and filter for the account level image gallery
Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback with us!

I would also like to have an easier time re-using the same images. My current way is to have the commonly used images saved locally and just upload them when needed. It takes time though.
A workaround that might work would be to post an article that is only visible to Agents and Managers (or just yourself if you want to add a custom viewing permission based on an organization or something) that acts as a repository for your images. Then since it's published, you could copy and paste from that article. I'm not 100% sure that would work but in my mind, it makes sense. Just a thought.

Thanks Kyle - Not a bad workaround. It does work. I'll wait on other comments before making this a more permanent solution,

I'm happy to say that we are starting to work on the attachment gallery and we hope that the first version of it will be available this spring :)

Hi,
It's something very useful for us. We make a lot of articles for our customers but we need to re-use some screenshot or some element of graphical charter.
Something very very very useful would be to be able to update an image to then update on all related posts.
Thanks for your attention.
Best regards,
Ruddy

Yes. I need this. I use the same image many times and when the interface changes I need to change the image once and have it update in the articles. How can we do this?

Erica, the Help Center Manager app can help you with finding images that need updating. It works by extracting all the images referenced in your help center, index them and make them available for searching and filtering.

Erica Dyson librairy is not yet implemented but you can use external image in your articles.
In your articles click on the source button :
Then, you will be able to add external image like this :
But you must have a server accessible through internet to do this.
And then, when you will modify your images, they will be modified on your articles
