Feature Request: Get Articles in review statuses via Help center API
Posted Oct 21, 2022
Feature Request:
I would like to request that Zendesk add endpoints for getting articles review status ("In Progress", "Awaiting Review", ...) and loading theirs content.
Use Case:
A content in "In Progress" status is different than the one in "Published" status for the one article.
Reasoning:
Having the actual articles content is very important for Zendesk integrations like a translation connector

not being able to get articles in review makes it risky to do any changes to the articles body via the API. Such change will overwrite previously made changes while the article was in review.

We have over 20 brands, so going into each guide admin to check if there are articles that need reviewing isn't practical. We need to be able to get this programmatically.

This is a fairly crucial data point to be able to call for anyone working with the Guide API. We have hundreds of articles in various stages and need to have the ability to filter out certain articles from downstream changes.

+1 to this, the ability to maintain a robust content pipeline easily is essentially rendered impossible without this functionality.

This a good suggestion, thank you for raising it up. It's been logged so we can keep an eye on it. However, just to set the right expectations, our current plans don't include any immediate enhancements for HC API. We absolutely value your input, though, and it will be front and center when we're pondering possible changes down the line. Thanks again for being part of our product's ongoing journey.

This is 100% needed. Even the “edited_at” date shown in the Zendesk GUI isn't reflected in the API until the content is “published”, so it can't be used reliably to see if the content is in progress.

+1 here. Thank you for raising it up.
We use Swifteq to improve help center localization, but the articles currently under review cannot be translated because the endpoints are not yet available. As a result, we need to wait to proceed with localization until the original article has been published.
