Using the Home and End keys in the search field
Posted Jun 05, 2024
Please give a quick overview of your product feature request or feedback and note who in your org is affected by this issue [ex. agents, admins, customers, etc.]
After the latest updates, recent views and searches appear in the search field (which is really cool) and when we use the home and end keys, it navigates through these options in the list instead of going to the beginning or end of the text.
What problem do you see this solving?
Some agents use this option extensively to enclose searches within quotation marks and quickly navigate the text field to make corrections to the search text before clicking "Enter".
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool? What happened? How often does this problem occur and how does this impact your business?
This situation began to occur after the last updates, when the list of recent research in the field was made available. This way, every time we need to navigate through the text, we have to use the arrows. But using the Home and End keys the way they were before the update was very practical in everyday life.
Are you currently using a workaround to solve this problem?
Yes, agents place quotation marks before entering text or navigate using arrow keys.
What would be your ideal solution to this problem? How would it work or function?
Allow the use of the Home and End keys in the search text and not in the recent search list.

Hi Mylena - Thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad to hear you are enjoing the new Search features. The keyboard naivgation updates is an intended change. You can now use Command+Left/Right arrow to move the cursor to the beginning or end of the text. This more closely aligns with our keyboard and accessibility patterns across the platform. Let me know if you have any questions.
