Article content is missing upon adding to a second category

Adding an additional category to an existing article worked fine. The challenge for us came when we published the article and only the article title populated. There was no article text. A workaround we've figured out is to make one tiny change to the article (ie. add an extra space at the end of a sentence) and then save/publish again, and that seems to work. But it would be great if we didn't have to take that extra step.
