Question
Why did I receive an email stating that Account Assumption was granted on my Zendesk account?
Answer
This occurs when an administrator on your account grants Zendesk the ability to access your account to troubleshoot an issue. Granting access to your account is done by enabling a feature known as Account Assumption. This is necessary occasionally in order to assist you as quickly as possible with your support request. As an added security measure, Zendesk will send an email to all administrators on the account whenever this feature is enabled.
For more information about Account Assumption, see the article: Granting Zendesk temporary access to your account.

As an admin, when I allow "Account Assumption" to ZD support, several people in our ZD instance are getting notified. How does ZD decide who to notify?

All Administrators on the account are notified when the account assumption was enabled. Currently, there's no option to select specific users who receive the notification. The system automatically sends account assumption email notifications to all users with Admin roles.
Hope this clarifies!

You can review the Audit log on who (Actor) activated Account Assumption. In Audit log, you can look for the Item "Enable Account assumption" with Activity "Turned on", the column Actor is the one who enabled it. Our article Viewing the audit log for changes details on how to open and use Audit logs.
