I previously had access to export data in my Zendesk account. Why is that option missing?
Answer
The ability to export data is limited to account administrators and agents with specific role permissions. If the export option is missing, it is likely due to one of the following:
- Granular CSV Permissions (Enterprise): On Enterprise plans, admins can control the ability to export CSV files independently of other reporting permissions. If you can see reports but cannot export them as a CSV, your custom role may lack the CSV Export permission.
- Contributor Role Restrictions: The Contributor role is a restricted role and does not have the ability to export views as CSV files. If you require export capabilities, you must be moved to a different role, such as a Light Agent (which supports exports if permitted) or a custom role.
- General Reporting Permissions: For all other export types (JSON or XML), your custom role must include permission to edit reports.
Contact an administrator on your account. They can verify if your specific role has the CSV Export permission enabled or transition you to a role that supports data exports.
