Email Registration - Distribution Lists, detecting Distribution List and not sending Email registration to entire list on Dist List.

Is it possible in triggers to configure a detection of recipients on an email and if its a blown out list from a Distribution List that a customer puts on an email.

I have had a scenario where a customer included a Distribution List on the TO: and had our support included.
We have the automation where any email that is not a user, will send a registration so they can access tickets.

This Distribution List had 35 or so Emails, so it sent out 35 Emails, requesting users to create a login to access Zendesk, meanwhile it was a Tech Department that just wanted to notify us on an update.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Is there a way to set up a “hybrid" approach for end-user access?

Typically we run a closed system and allow only a limited number of registered admins or super users from a customer's organization to have access to our support site on Zendesk. But for some organizations, we would like to support all end users. For those users we would want to allow email messages from their domain but we would not want them to have a registered account where they log into the site (i.e., email support only).

Is this type of configuration possible?

Thanks,

Jon

Hey Karla, as these are all employees of yours - do you want them to verify their email or do you want to verify it for them (as you know who they are and their valid email address)? If it's the latter then it is possible to verify in bulk using our Users API. The property that has to be updated is called verified, so it has to be set to true. To do this in bulk, you can use the Create or Update Many Users

Hello! Is there a way of sending in bulk welcome emails to sign up o maybe extending the time of the welcome email link? We are using Zendesk for our employees and we bulk imported them to Zendesk. We didn't know the welcome message would expire and now we have to send the sign up email to everyone again because they didn't do it on time. Having to do it one by one is too much.

Our Zendesk instance is using Zendesk's built-in authentication to validate end-users on our support site. If we choose to switch to an external JWT or SAML sign on, will our current Zendesk users be given a new profile that isn't connected to their old profile?

Hi All, we would like to setup our help centre for end users and ask them to sign in to be able to monitor their raised tickets. But we would like to limit end user registration to our company email accounts only (will not allow external email such as gmail/yahoo/etc). Is this possible?

Hi Emily,

We don't have a direct way of doing that. But a workaround can be done based on How do I generate a user's last login date list?.

Audrey Ann Cipriano we are trying to run the JSON query above to understand how many users have registered on our help portal, and it's not returning accurate results. For example, my personal email is registered as a user for the support portal, and it's not being returned. Is there a different query we can run to understand what email addresses have signed up for our support portal?

Francisco and Ali, I've been looking for an answer to this on-and-off for quite some time, and it turns out that it's working as intended, as explained here: How can I authenticate users from my website to the Help Center?

I'm adding a comment to that guide now that discusses my workaround.

Hi Luis! Welcome to our Community!

You can utilize the Incremental Export API for Users and side load identities to find users with verified = true. More info here for Incremental User Export

The URL/Endpoint that you would want to use is: https://yoursubdomain.zendesk.com/api/v2/incremental/users.json?start_time=1&include=identities

You can also use our data export feature under Admin > Manage > Reports. This will include a JSON file with the same data from the incremental export and you can then filter users based on the `"verified" : true` parameter.
