Zendesk is pleased to announce the ability to create new records and update existing records with a single data importer job.

What is changing?
The data importer can be used to import records for organizations and custom objects.
Previously, each data import job could either create new records or update existing records, but not both. Instead, you had to create separate CSV files and data importer jobs using the Create only and Update only import types. Now, we've added a third import type, Create and update, which enables you to upload a single CSV file with a blend new and existing data.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
We realize that streamlining your data management process is important. Adding support for import jobs that can create and update means you can maintain the integrity of your data more easily and efficiently. This is another step towards enhancing the bulk data import functionality and providing a consistent experience for managing data across objects in your Zendesk account.
What do I need to do?
No action is required. This functionality is being rolled out automatically to all Zendesk Suite plans. Use the data importer the next time you need to add or update your organizations or custom object records.
