Starting October 29, 2024, Zendesk will update the domain for its Zopim Chat REST API.

What is changing?
Zendesk is updating the domain for its Zopim Chat REST API. Beginning October 29, 2024, the current Zopim Chat REST API path of www.zopim.com/api/v2 will be replaced with {subdomain}.zendesk.com/api/v2/chat. Both paths will be available simultaneously until this date, giving you time to transition.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
Zendesk is updating the Zopim Chat REST API to align it with the structure of our other APIs. This change is a necessary step toward migrating Chat to Zendesk's native infrastructure, which will enhance reliability and ensure more consistent performance in the future.
What do I need to do?
We strongly encourage you to update your code and configurations to reflect the new domain and URL format as soon as possible to prevent service disruption and ensure a seamless transition. See our developer docs for instructions, which have been updated to reflect the necessary domain change.
- It's important to note that only the domain used to call the API needs to be adjusted, and there will be no changes to the functionality of the Zopim Chat REST API itself.
Additionally, the following APIs are not affected by this change:
- Real Time Chat API
- Streaming API
- Chat Web SDK
- Chat Mobile SDK
- Chat Conversations API
Although the transition is straightforward, it may be time-consuming depending on how many instances in your codebase rely on the current URL. Therefore, we advise starting these updates as soon as possible to ensure a seamless transition.
