Is there a way to create a private forum in community where specific users only get to see?

Hi there community,

I am trying not to reinvent the wheel here and use Zen Desk's community to create a forum for beta users. My vision is to have a space where Beta users that are testing out a potential tool can connect with one another, share notes, continue the conversation, and engage with folks creating the tool (e.g. PMMs, Engineers, etc).

My question: is there a way we could create a community topic (or something within ZD) that is private to a particular group of beta testers to engage with one another?

Thank you all for the insight!

Francisco

Hey Francisco, this is probably the answer to your question:

Applying user segments to restrict viewing access to community content

Jumping into confirm that what Vlad is suggesting is correct. So, yes, you can create a discussion topic in the community, and then limit the visibility of that topic to a user segment. You would put all of your beta testers into that segment, and then when they log on to the community they'll be able to see that topic and the posts and comments within it, but no one else will.
