I am an Admin and owner of Zendesk Professional and this option is not available when I click on the Admin icon.

    Hey Stella,

If this option is not showing up on your account then most likely we will need to enable this for you. I'm going to generate a ticket on your behalf so I can get some account information from you and enable this feature.

    Thanks!

I would love to see this export contain our setup.. triggers, macros, etc.

Until such time as we can, however, it's great to see that https://developer.zendesk.com/requests/ allows use to perform basic exports of this data.

Appreciate you sharing the feedback Allen as well as a possible alternative :)

I'll pass this along to the appropriate team!

Love ZenDesk, but why are we forced to request this feature to be enabled? Should it not be on already for the plans that support it? We have SLAs with some clients and need to be able to report the data back to the client for verification purposes.

We had multiple accounts, and want a full data export of one of the old ones (including email content) but that doesn't seem to be an option.

Will log a support ticket about it, but if there's a way to do this, please let me know.

I own the admin account, but I can't find the export button on reports. Please tell me how can I export all of our data?

  • It's SO frustrating that my team can search for ticket strings in Zendesk, but NOT export them to excel. As of today, excel is STILL the most commonly used data analytics tool!

    Why haven't you fix this?

It seems this is a way to force Zendesk customers to purchase Explore. Unless the full version of Explore cannot export either (Does it?). Please put back the ability to export data.

You should also remove the articles referencing the former way to export, since it is not available any more.

We have a request from end-users to have an option to Export their tickets (tickets of their Organization) to the CSV file.
Currently, the export is available only for administrators/agents.

When I am under the support tab --- settings gear --- manager there is no options to export data? Has this changed?

    Hi There,

Also looking to have this functionality enabled on my account? How can I get this actioned?

Gosh - tbh, as a support based company I find that there seems like there is a lack of focus on how to support.

    Hello Luke Grob,

Looking into your account, you have access to this feature since you are subscribed to the professional level of Support. If you are an admin, click the Admin icon () and then select Manage > Reports. For complete instructions, see the article: Exporting data to a JSON, CSV, or XML file (Professional and Enterprise).

    Best regards.

  • Devan,

Thanks for the update. Is there a way to set a date range for CSV exports? I use CSV, but I am forced to export our entire dataset...and when it's 5 years of data and I only want last week...its inefficient.

    Thanks,

Hey Rob, I'm looking into this for you and will let you know when I find out.

Luke and Spencer, you do have to contact Zendesk Support to get data export enabled on your account. This may be why you aren't seeing the option for it.

I recommend initiating a chat to get it sorted.

    Hi Rob,

Got an answer for you: there is not a way to set date ranges for CSV exports. However, if you use the JSON export, then you can, as shown here:

Good afternoon. Our department has an account that needs to activate data export. Can you please reach out to me so that we can open a ticket for it? Thank you,

    Hello Davide Letizia,

That is something our advocacy team can assist you with. The Owner or Admin of the account will need to submit a ticket requesting to have export access enabled on their account. You also will want to make sure you are on the right plan level in Support to utilize exporting since this requires Professional and above.

    Best regards.

Hello Devan - Community Manager . Who can help me with this? I am unsure where to submit the ticket from the Admin's account. We have Professional licensing.

  • Devan,

Did you see my question? This is Rob asking about the error on importing JSON file into Power BI.

    Hello Davide Letizia,

From within your Zendesk account, you should be able to click on the help tab and then the account button to be connected to someone who can assist. I would recommend starting w/ live chat since this will be a quick resolution for you.

    Best regards.

Hello Rob Jacobs - Director of Information & Technology,

I reached out to our moderator team to see if they had some knowledge regarding this error with Power BI. I'll also be sure to include it in our roundup to see if we can get an answer for the community.

    Best regards.

Good afternoon Devan - Community Manager ,

From the ZenDesk account all I see is the following:

When I click on "Get Help" it redirects me to the following site and asks me to sign in: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/360004109213

    What are my next steps?
    Thank you

    Hey @Rob Jacobs,

If you can, get the JSON output from the Zendesk API you're trying to put into PowerBI and run it through a JSON validator to see if it's coming out of Zendesk properly. If it validates ok, it may be an issue with the PowerBI JSON parser not treating it correctly, in which case their support team can likely help narrow that down.

  • Dan,

Thanks...I downloaded the file and tried to open it as an excel workbook. It didn't work....something about missing an excel object on my machine.

I might try again, but I'm losing faith...as I wish it wasn't this hard to extract 30 days of data into excel.
