Is there a way to update non-custom fields and/or automated actions that use updating a field as a trigger? Thank you!

Hi Ie,

If you're looking to update custom fields within Sell automatically this can be done via Sell's API, you may refer to this documentation for Sell's API Custom Fields: https://developers.getbase.com/docs/rest/articles/requests#custom_fields. Also, please note that at this time, our API only supports updating any value to an existing custom field.

Can we create an automated action based on a record update not just creation? We have integrations that are updating records with data, and then we have to manually filter and apply actions to on a regular basis. For example:

1. Contact is updated by marketing software

2. Update creates task to call contact

Hi @..., I'm specifically looking for automated actions for default / non-custom / native fields. Here are sample scenarios:

  • A sales rep manages deals in multiple countries, with varying currencies. He wants to switch from deal to deal, and country to country without having to correct the currency field. Is there a way to automate this?
  • A sales manager wants to update the Estimated Close Date in a deal to match the actual close date if a deal is closed won. Is there a way to automate this?

Hi,

Other than record creation, the only other trigger that we have available is a deal's stage being updated. If you want other triggers then you'll need to build them via the API. As for the other questions, we're afraid that there's no way to automate currency updates. You may try via API but we do not support this natively.

Hey guys,

Can you please let the product team know we would love to see automated actions have a scheduled/repeat functionality. For example, we can create quarterly check-ins now (when a deal is created), but we need this to be repeatable every 90-days. Thanks!

hi support team, 

Can I use this feature to send an email automatically to the customer? for example, if the condition stage is rejected, then Sell will send a reject notification email to the Customer.

Is there a way to customize these actions for individual sales reps rather than the whole team?  Our sales team has 5 people and each of us have different styles and different types of customers.  I want to set up these automatic actions but only have them apply to my actions, not the action of someone else on the team.  

I know that I can control who the action is assigned to.  But there doesn't seem to be any control over who controls the action.  In other words, when I set up an action for a when a new lead is created, can this be limited to just leads that I create?  Otherwise, I am not sure that this feature is very useful. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it's does not have the capability to send email automatically. It will just be for a task, which can also notify the agent to send the email.

As it turns out, the functionality to control the automated tasks for individual agents is not available.

If Automated Actions cannot be tailored to individual preferences, then this functionality is not very valuable.  If you want to create a truly great program, then each agent or team should be able to customize it.  Having one setting on a company-wide level does not reflect the needs of real life sales teams. These sort of actions can be tailored in Support, why not Sell?

I wanted to do this but when I try to do it, it says we need to upgrade. When I follow the link to upgrade it just leads to a page saying “Oops! This help centre no longer exists”. Can it really be that it is not a part of Professional?
