You can edit the content of your custom pages or delete the pages if they're no longer necessary.
This article covers the following topics:
Editing custom pages
You can edit an existing custom page to change any content in the page. For additional information about customizing the page templates with HTML and Curlybars, see Customizing your help center theme.
To edit a custom page
- In Guide, click the Customize design icon (
) in the sidebar.
The Themes page opens.
- Click Customize on the theme that contains the custom page you want to edit.
- Click Edit code.
- Find and select a custom page from your list. The custom page content appears in the content pane.
- Edit the content as required.
Note: If you're editing a custom page for a live theme, duplicate the theme first and then edit that version. You'll need to save your changes before you can preview them, so it's a good idea to work on a copy, then make it live when you're ready.
- If you're working on a live theme, click Publish. Otherwise, click Save.
Deleting custom pages
You can delete an existing custom page if you no longer need it. To prevent broken links in your help center, be sure to remove any references or links to the custom page before you delete it.
To delete a custom page
- In Guide, click the Customize design icon (
) in the sidebar.
The Themes page opens.
- Click Customize on the theme that you want to edit.
- Click Edit code.
- In the templates section, locate the custom page you want to delete.
- Click the options menu (
), then select Delete.
- Click OK to confirm that you want to delete the custom page.
The custom page is deleted and removed from your list of custom pages.

Hello, I'm curious about the content in my current help center. If we update / customize the generic 'Copenhagen' theme, is it safe to assume the content in the categories and sections we have created will remain unaffected? Our dev team will be streamlining a custom theme in our existing help centers into a new one that has about 70% of the articles already created and awaiting approval. Just want to be certain....

Hi Zendesk - Is there any way to delete the default templates for pages that are unused on our Help Center, such as community_topic_page.hbs ? Or, if not, a way to make them inaccessible to users?
Please note that this question pertains to the default templates and not custom.
Thank You!

Thanks for your question. For avoiding any system errors, we highly recommend deactivating the "Community" page via the System Guide settings there:
Gather Settings -> Activate Community -> OFF
Hope it helps

Thank you @... - I will take a look! I forgot about the built-in System Guide Settings.
