I enabled the pre-chat form and created a department in Chat. How do I add the departments to the pre-chat form for the Chat widget?
Answer
Enable each department within it's own settings page to make those departments available options within the pre-chat form. You can then enable department selection for your users on the widget's settings page, in the Forms tab.
To enable a department
- In the Chat dashboard, go to Settings > Departments to add and edit Chat departments.
- Click the department name to edit
- Under Group status, select the checkbox field to Enable in Chat
- Select Save changes
- Go to Settings > Widget > Forms and next to Preview, select Online:Pre-chat form to preview your department selection
The enabled departments will appear as selections for your visitors within the department field.
