Hi Lizyer, thanks for your question. I am not a product manager at Zendesk however per the post linked, the end of 2024 in Q4 looks like it is the planned release timeframe. However, I do want to point you in the direction of our Community Guidelines to affirm that all discussions of roadmap and timeline are subject to change without notice. Hi. I found my way here looking to improve the accessibility experience using Zendesk. The screen is BRIGHT WHITE and difficult for users with vision issues, like myself. Can you please let us know when this feature will be on the roadmap for delivery?

Tim Burke  According to an official comment here from a Zendesk Product Manager, dark mode will be natively supported in Zendesk in “late 2024.” :) 

Many thanks to Zendesk for recognizing this as a major accessibility need and for taking action.

The suggested extension is not full featured. There are options missing when it is enabled, such as creating a new ticket, and creating macros. As soon as I turn off the extension and go back to light mode I am able to perform these actions. It is imperative that Zendesk add native accessibility features including Dark mode to their product. I cannot use this product when not in dark mode. 

 

Thank you to the person who suggested Dark Reader as an alternative.

Myself and our agents would love to see a native dark mode for the Zendesk browser experience!

It´s more important implementing a feature like location in Zendesk so your managers can control/check from where in the world you are working from rather than having a Dark Mode. That says it all folks

Can we PLEASE get this added? The extensions cost money now! We shouldn't have to pay a third-party extension for this feature! The strain on my eyes is very annoying and sometimes painful.

It's definitely not a substitute and ZenDesk should implement the feature natively, but I find Dark Reader works perfectly and costs no money. It's free to use. You can set it up to only turn ZenDesk Dark and leave other websites alone.

Our team would like this built into Zendesk

 

They were using the Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents feature from Chrome but since  Wednesday 13th something has changed in Zendesk to make it incompatible. All other websites are fine

One of my agents experienced the same thing that Richard Harris did: the Chrome Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents feature stopped rendering correctly on Wednesday, November 13th, for our Zendesk instance. I confirmed this as well.

 

In the meantime, using a 3rdparty extension like Dark Reader works. Looking forward to the native support though from Zendesk.

WOW Year 3, and you still haven't bothered editing your CSS to make a dark mode. I wish my company were smart enough not to use your software. ALSO, you linked someone else's work, that like you, DOES NOT WORK.
