Hi, the advanced time filters in the new Dashboard have changed a bit from the current one, and doesn't match with the time filters we can use in reports.
We're missing a lot the option to select number of days, weeks, months in the past (see image). Is there something planned to be added in the future? It is an essential feature for us, so I hope so.

Will a metric filter ever be available for the new dashboard builder? We currently use it to remove blank values and in times when we want to focus on top/bottom values.

+1 to Sandra's request.

Apparently, the advance filter on the new builder is not that advanced anymore. Hope we can add the advance filter back as it was before.

I am missing the advanced time filter badly. While possible to arrive at most time ranges via the calendar it is not as user-friendly plus it doesn't allow to view  X hours in the past. This is critical for some intraday reports we run. Please add this again on priority.

I am quite surprised to see the Decompose functionality in this list as functionality that will not be maintained.

Can you please let me know when this information was added? I follow this migration process very closely and I don't remember noticing it as a limitation before, when it was announced.

This is a functionality that is in high demand, as Drill in does not do the same by not keeping the chart type. Is there a specific place where we as users can request these tools back in the Dashboard builder, just like the attribute change?

Hi @Sandra Redk Light,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.

The decompose feature was never intended to be included in the new dashboard builder. However, we recently realized it wasn't explicitly mentioned and decided to add it to the list.

You can request the feature by creating a post in this section.

Regards,
Walter

Walter Bellante I find removal of the Top/Bottom component incomprehensible. That you can set the report to show Top/Bottom X is not in any way a viable alternative. That is static, and placing the report on the dashboard will show only those settings.

We have an “Issues” field on our tickets. I want my dashboard to show the top/bottom X most/least-prevalent issues, selected by the dashboard viewer, not statically chosen by me when creating the report placed on the dashboard.

I can find no way to build such capability with the new dashboard builder. All I can think of is to create TWO reports, one with a Top X, place that on the main tab, and then a second one with ALL issues, on its own tab.

I consider this a bug/breakage, not a new feature to be requested.

The Change Attribute/Metric was to be implemented post GA. Is there a specific timeline for when we can expect this?

This is not ready for prime time.   When you migrate all scheduling is lost, you can not longer hide filters, you can't change font size on the dashboard report names, you can't change shapes, there is no save option, the manage data restrictions are only good while in the dashboard but are lost on scheduling, the report names on the dashboard show the filters, and the PDF quality is horrible

I wouldn't consider it an upgrade to the Explore. Seeing so many features being removed is a total downgrade to me.

Many features will be removed that we are using in almost every dashboard such as:
- Change attribute;
- Metric filter;
- Top/Bottom;
- Even report settings will be gone.

- Tooltips (we are using custom tooltips to have as much context on our graphs as needed)

Please explain the full reasoning behind removing these features with the new Explore builder.

Hi Walter Bellante, in the legacy dashboard builder I could share a specific tab and basically copy it to another dashboard. I dont see this possiblity in the builder. What is the workaround for it other than building the same tab (with all its reports and filters) all over again?

THis link was referenced in a previous post with this comment: You can check out this article to see which features are already on the roadmap and their expected release dates

Question: where in this article are expected release dates?

Walter Bellante some of the items on the list below are covered in the article but some are not.  For the ones that are will they be included in a later release and for the ones that are not why weren't they called out.

You have to reschedule dashboards annually  - again with over 700 dashboards this is very time consuming

You can no longer download the individual reports on the dashboard

You can no longer expand the various reports

When you migrate all scheduling is lost

You can longer hide filters

You can't change font size on the dashboard report names

You can't change shapes

There is no save option

The manage data restrictions are only good while in the dashboard but are lost on scheduling

The report names on the dashboard show the filters

The PDF quality is poor

Walter Bellante Am I reading correctly that Decompose functionality is not planned to be added to the new dashboard builder? I don't see it as a GA or Post GA item, yet it is under the ‘Most-used Features’ table. Please re-implement this!

This is really important for drilling into data and maintaining the same visual presentation as the source chart. The drill in workaround is poor, the drill in window uses like 25% of the screen(why so small!?) and is not appropriate for displaying more than a few columns or records.

Voicinig in again, again requesting a timeline for when “Post-GA” features, specifically Change Attribute, in my case, will be available, as we are now post-GA.

Walter Bellante How can you be obsoleting the legacy dashboard builder when the new one is clearly deficient in many ways that have been expressed in the comments to this article?

The fact that the existing stock dashboards can't be implemented with the new builder should have been a clear sign that it's not ready for launch. The ability to do what can already be done should have been requirement #1 for development of the new builder.

I live in terror of Zendesk doing the same with the new report builder, which is currently woefully deficient…

Dear Valued Customers,

Thank you for your inquiries!
Here some updates on your questions:

Timeline for Change Attribute: We’re pleased to inform you that this feature will be available by the end of April.

Scheduling Dashboard Restrictions: This will be accessible before we transition away from the classic builder.

Copying Reports to Another Tab: You can easily achieve this by cloning a tab (screenshot attached).

Report Builder Beta: Reports are not affected by the dashboard builder migration. We will provide more capabilities to the report builder beta before moving it to general availability.

Regards,
Walter

Walter Bellante How about addressing concerns raised about capabilities of the old dashboard builder that are completely missing in the new one and marked as not-planned in your table above? For my usage in particular, removal of top/bottom is painful and there is no viable alternative.

Hello, I no longer see the option to export individual reports/widgets. Only the entire dashboard. Will this be added back and if so, how soon? My clients export their raw data from the dashboards.
