Sell notifications help you stay on top of your account activity by notifying you when a deal move stages, new leads are assigned, tasks are created, or any other personalized alert options.
You can tailor your notification preferences to how you're alerted, and what you're notified about by customizing them in Settings > Manage > Notifications.

Viewing the Notification Center
The Notification Center displays all of your notifications that haven't been dismissed over the last seven days.
To view the Notification Center
- Click the Alert () icon on the top toolbar.
A pop up window displays all of your recent notifications for quick viewing. When you have a new unread notification, a red dot will appear next to the bell.
- At the bottom of the pop up window, select All Notifications to see your full notification history over the last 30 days.
- To mark a task complete, select the circle next to it.
Customizing your notification preferences
On the two lowest Sell plans, you have two types of notifications available - preset notifications and web notifications.
Preset notifications include standard account activity alerts:
- When a lead, contact, or deal is assigned to you
- When a task is assigned to you, or when your task is due
- When an appointment is due
Preset notifications also include system messages such as:
- An import is completed
- An import has been canceled
- An export is completed
You can edit all preset notifications to create a web alert, an email alert, or to have no notification.
Web notifications are disabled by default. You can enable them to receive web notifications for incoming text messages and incoming calls.
On the two highest Sell plans, you can also set up personalized notifications based on your leads, contacts, and deals.
To set up personalized notifications (available on the two highest Sell plans)
- On the Sell sidebar, click the Settings () icon.
- In Manage > Notifications, open the Personalized Notifications tab.
- Click Add notification.
- Click Lead, Contact, or Deal.
- Choose a filter, or a condition, that your lead, contact, or deal state must meet.
You can specify whether your lead, contact, or deal state should meet all of those conditions, or any of those conditions. Choose from these filters:
- Belongs to a certain user or users
- Belongs to a certain team or teams
- Belongs to a certain group or groups
- Is assigned to me as a collaborator or owner
- Has a score higher than (lead and deal)
- Has a certain status (lead)
- Is hot (deal)
- Is in a certain stage (deal)
- Has a value higher than (deal)
- Click Save and choose triggers.
- Choose when you want to be notified. You can specify the following events to trigger a notification:
- When a task has been added
- When a note has been added
- When a file has been added (to a lead)
- When the status has been changed (leads only)
- When the stage has been changed (deals only)
- When a custom field changes
- When a task is marked as complete
- Select how you'd like to be notified, specific to each notification trigger you've set.
You can choose to be notified in three different ways:

Notification Center: each notification will appear in the Notification Center as a line item.
The Notification Center is always selected for preset and personalized notifications, with the exception of task due, appointment due, and incoming SMS reminders, which do not display in the Notification Center.
- Email: email notifications are sent to the address registered with your Zendesk Sell account.
- Web alert: web alerts display a message with the content of your notification on your screen.

- Click Save and activate.
The notification is configured.
Your notifications are synchronized across all platforms. This means that if you open a notification on your mobile device, it will be marked as read in your web Notification Center.
Viewing your notifications in Sell mobile
You can see all new notifications from the dashboard in the Sell app on your phone.
- On the top toolbar, a red dot appears on the Alert () icon when a new notification arrives, or if you have pending notifications that you have not yet seen.
- On the bottom toolbar, you can see the number of notifications for Today, Leads, Contacts, and Deals in a red dot next to the associated icon.
- On the Overview tab, you can view your reports, tasks, calendar, and communication at a glance.
- On the Activity tab, you can view your activity feed for an overview of everything that has happened recently.
Customizing your mobile notification preferences
You can configure your notification preferences for the Zendesk Sell mobile app. When a Zendesk event occurs, a mobile push notification is sent, based on the event type, user settings, and registered devices.
When you configure the settings for the Sell mobile app, they stack on top of your existing Sell settings and therefore limit what type of notifications arrive on your mobile in general and the volume of notifications that you can receive on the Sell mobile app.
For personalized notifications to arrive on your mobile, you must first enable it in Sell settings.
To enable Sell mobile notifications
- On the Sell sidebar, click the Settings () icon.
- In Manage > Notifications, click the Personalized Notifications tab.
You can now add a new notification or edit an existing one.
To add a new notification
- Click Add new notification, then click Leads, Contacts, or Deals.
- Click Add filter, then choose from the dropdown menu, and click Save and choose triggers.
- Click Add trigger, then choose from the dropdown menu, and ensure the Mobile Alert checkbox is selected.
- Click Save and activate.
To edit a notification
- On the notification, click Edit.
You can see the existing methods of contact for that notification in dark gray (i.e. by Web Alert, Email, or Mobile Alert).
- You can add another filter or just click Save and choose triggers.
- Select the Mobile Alert checkbox, then click Save and activate.
To customize your Sell mobile notifications (iOS)
- Tap Settings > Notifications.
- Toggle each notification on or off to configure your notification settings
To customize your Sell mobile notifications (Android)
- Tap Settings > Notifications.
- Toggle each notification on or off to configure your notification settings.
