We’re excited to announce that you can now restrict what data users can see when they view dashboards that were created with the Explore beta dashboard builder.
This announcement contains the following topics:
What’s changing and why?
In the beta dashboard builder, you can now create dashboard restrictions that allow you to control what data a user can see when they view the dashboard.
Dashboard restrictions eliminate the need for creating multiple copies of the same dashboard with different filters for different audiences. Instead, you can create one shared dashboard that can be quickly and easily tailored to each audience using dashboard restrictions, preventing the oversharing of data while still saving you time and effort.
For example, you can create a single dashboard to monitor agent productivity, and then use dashboard restrictions to ensure that each agent can see only their own metrics when they open the dashboard.
What do I need to do?
The dashboard restriction functionality is automatically available, but only with the beta dashboard builder. To get started, see Dynamically adapting dashboard data based on viewer.
