We are excited to announce the release of custom bot avatars for Zendesk messaging conversation bots. This feature allows you to customize a bot's avatar image to align with your brand and bot persona.
What's changing and why?
You can now set the bot avatar image when you create a new bot, or via bot settings for existing bots. You can choose to use your brand logo, a custom image that illustrates it is a bot that is conversing with your customers, or any other image that suits your needs. You will be able to see a preview of a custom bot avatar image in the settings page, and also when you use the Test bot feature in the main bot admin interface.
Custom bot avatars will also be reflected in the proactive messaging admin experience when a bot is set as the responder. You must save the proactive message setting for the custom bot avatar to become visible in the end-user experience. We are planning to improve this in the future so that bot avatar updates will be automatically updated in the proactive messaging end-user experience.
What do I need to do?
No immediate action is required. Setting a custom bot avatar image is optional. You can choose to do this when creating new bots or via settings for your existing bots when it is convenient.
